I wrote these words back in 2018, but I could have written them this morning. The ways in which our little family, the kids, have changed over the past decade are stunning. Just this past weekend, we celebrated the second birthday of this baby’s (in these photos below) baby’s second birthday as he begins his third and final year of law school.
When I say time passes in a flash, please believe me.
I think this is where I am supposed to write ‘seize the day’ and all of that, and you should, but even more you should ‘live deliberately’ as the Thoreau quote goes.
Love hard. Love well.
…because as the song goes, “time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping…into the future.”
BTW…I sang the song in my head to get those lyrics, no Google needed.
One more thing, my Sis made some beautiful babies.
So, here is another #FromTheArchives post. Enjoy.

Our family has been going to the beach separately and together since the kids were first born.
The past four years have been more intentional and sacrificial in making this time away happen, after letting it slip away from us for a few years.
We were (and are) hyper-aware that the kids are getting older, our family is changing, and time is passing faster and faster.
Last year, I had the kids recreate this photo - 15 years separate the two shots - and it popped up in my feed this morning and gave me all the feels.
15 years passed in a flash.
If there is anything I pray we have taught these three, it is the importance of intentionality and being present with those you love most AND in your daily life.
We aren’t perfect. We haven’t done everything right. Some days we don’t do anything right.
We have loved these three with ALL of our heart. We have prayed over and with them fervently. We have been transparent in our failings and vulnerable with our dreams. We have held them close and given them wings. Ultimately we have trusted each of them to God.
Children will make + break your heart. Sometimes simultaneously. I wouldn’t trade the last 24 years with these three for ANYTHING in the world. These photos are a reminder of so much shared and lived with these three and their amazing parents.
Precious memories.
Grateful Aunt Here.

P.S. One day these three will be glad their aunt ALWAYS had a camera in her hand...😉 I am grateful they always obliged me photographing and documenting their lives.
